I don't have proof that you're looking for. However was wondering about this bunch... how all the Layne's that surround this group fit together. I have Elizabeth Layne as daughter of David this correct? I have Elizabeth and Williams daughter Perlitha Stegall married 1858 Grundy Co. to a Hyram Layne I have Brother to Hyram Layne as Richard Layne (ss/o Abraham and Rebecca (Kilgore) Layne) married to a Mary Stegall.............How does Mary Stegall fit in this group? I'm not descended from this bunch, but am attempting to trace all known Steagalls (+ variations) from Virginia up until 1850. This way I eliminate any possible connections to my unconnected Steagall family that stayed in Virginia until the 1890's Anyway, I have this bunch (no proof) as Moses (b. 1735 Va) to William (b. 1770 NC) to Moses (b. 1790 NC) to William b. 1819 Tennessee with 7 children listed for William and Elizabeth (Layne) Stegall. Any help to get these lines as correct as possible would be appreciated.
