Kent- These are possibly descendants of William Stegall from Anson Co.,NC. He lived about 1770-1850 and left NC for TN and then went on to Fayette Il. William had a son named John Fanning Stegall 1808-1852. I believe this John had a son named William born about then. John married a Mary Raiburn or Royburn. You might check this line to see if it's the one you need. Gary
