1850: I have my William living with Levi and Elizabeth Stigall in Fayette, IL. They are much too young to be his parents. Martha is with William L. and Martha Stigall and their small children; agan, way too old to be their child.

The reason I'm trying to link William and Martha together as siblings is that they are the only unaccounted-for children living with Solomon Stigall's family in 1850, and in 1860, all of Solomon's family leaves for Texas--but William and Martha remain in Illinois.

In 1860, my William is a farm worker with the Clark family in Fayette, and Martha is a servant for the George Sidener family. This Sidener was an uncle of Catherine Kepner, the woman William married in 1862 in Fayette County. If your information on Martha J. overlaps the little I know, I'd love to compare notes to see if this might really be a sibling of my William Stegall.
