Moses Stigall's vengence & Harpe's head

Having seen some questions regarding the story of Moses Stigall (Steagall) on one of Stegall forums, I thought I might post where those who are interested the account of his vengence upon Micaijah Harpe, notorious outlaw and murderer of Stigall's wife and child, might read the narrative. This story is published in a rather fine book called "A Treasury of Southern Folklore" edited by B.A. Botkin. I believe it is still in print.
