Martha(Patty)Stigler d/o Samuel 1700's

Dear Stigler Descendants,
Samuel STIGLER, b.? d. 22 March 1800,was deeded land in 1765 in what was referred to as the Robinson River Section, Culpeper, VA. According to his will he left his property to "Wife: Sarah. Children: Benjamin, Gilly, Mary Rawson, Sally Brown, Patty Snyder, Charlotte Eldridge, Nanacy Dorsey. Ex: son James Brown , Charles Wortham, Beall Dorsey." The will can be found in "Abstract of Early KY Wills", author King, pub.1969, page 188.
The daughter, Martha "Patty" Stigler SNYDER, is my ancestor who married Michael SNYDER ca. 1779 and lived in Madison County, VA. She was sometimes called Patsy. Samuel went to KY at an early date and after his death in 1800, wife, Sarah, returned to VA and was living in Madison County when his estate was finally settled in 1827. Patsy Stigler SNYDER'S son, John, eventually went to KY as well and from there to MO after the Civil War. Was this Samuel Stigler the son of James?
Thanks in advance for any clues.
Suzee
