Hi, this Samuel Stigler was my ancestor also. Most interested in knowing about his wife Sarah who "returned to VA etc."

Old Samuel married three times..lst to Sarah .... 2nd Ann Wortham and third to Sarah Martin Pound

Samuel died 1800 Nelson Co. Ky. His will is in Nelson Co. records. With the exception of dau Patsy Snider.. all of his children were in Nelson Co. Ky.area.

As Sarah Martin Pound was from NJ I don't believe she would have returned to VA but.. and the estate of Samuel stigler was not settled until... 1827? Madison Co. VA or was this for Patsy Stigler Snyder?

Most interested in what you found in the Madison Co. VA records that would give a settlement for old Samuel? names of his children again, division of estate etc.. ??however .. his will in Nelson Co. states who got what etc..but..who knows...

Samuel had brothers who stayed in VA.. a James, Bemjamin and David. Some ended up in Fauquier co. etc..

I Have not worked with these as Samuel's Children named in his will can be proven to have stayed in least for the next few years etc. that is with the exception of Patsy. She and her husband Michael did not go to Ky with Samuel and his son-in-law James Brown. Also a John Snyder from Culpeper co. went and settled in the same area etc..I tried for ages to make the Patsy Stigler Snyder his wife but..of course she was not etc..

Mary Ann
