Actually Nicholas was in Virginia in 1638. The lineage you quote is in dispute. John E Stillwell assumed the lineage you speak of. However, these are the facts about Nicholas at that time:
First the facts that John Stillwell provides:
1. Nicholas Stillwell was established as a tobacco viewer in 1639. This establishes him as a man of experience and dignity. (or perhaps connected via his wife?)
2. Nicholas was granted 200 acres on the York river 11/8/1642. 4 persons were brought on this property. In fact, rural grants appear to have at 50 acres per person.
3. Opechancanaugh uprising was met by colony and Lt. Nicholas Stillwell by an act on 6/1/1644.
4. Between 11/1645 and March 1646 Claiborne attempts to reassert he control over Kent Island (near present day Annapolis).
5. March 1646 Lt. Nicholas Stillwell is mentioned by name in an order from Maryland to return all persons that had gone to Kent and receive penalty of severe censure.
6. Thomas Smith had been executed previously. This was the possible reason Nicholas chose to flee Virginia.
7. Debtors attach Nicholas’s estate from 2/1645 to 9/1646.
8. Nicholas Stillwell conveyed Jan Jansen Schepmoes house and lot on Manhatten 11/25/1646.
We have recently learned that he received 202 acres and may have received that for "Headrights" of sponsoring other people. In addition we may have found a real connection which changes his birth date to 1617 not 1603 as is often quoted.
No attempt to argue or change your info, just attempting to provide verifyed facts.
