Hi. My ggggrandfather was Hugh Stitt, b. County Down, Ireland, 1765. His older brother was Samuel. They came to US in 1783, landing in Philadelphia, moved to Pittsburg, then came by flatboat down Ohio River. They landed in Ft. Hamilton (now Cincinnati) where they parted company. Samuel reared a large family and became wealthy; Hugh bought 500 acres in northeastern KY. All this known from 1937 letter to one of Hugh's daughter's descendants. Could your Samuel be brother to my Hugh? I can send you a copy of the letter if you'd like. Karen Cook
