Saw your last message. I thought I would tell you that my husband's grandfather and grandmother (Henry and Debbie Oakes) had a farm in Mio. She was a Stitt and her father was George Franklin Stitt. She also had the brother named Franklin. My husband spent most of his summer's in Mio working on the farm. We also had an Aunt and Uncle (John and Velma Bushre) who lived there for many years. Small world!
George Franklin Stitt was born in 1848 in Pennsylvania. I don't know exactly when he moved to Mi but he was married to Matilda Ann Shank. Our grandmother Debbie Oakes was their 6th child. If you find out who George Franklin's father was I'd appreciate the info. It's fun doing family research but difficult at times.

Thanks for your message,

The Oakes
