My Thomas b ABT 1810? and Mary Stitt lived on Grand Calumet Island in Quebec, Canada (In the Ottawa, River) They were the parents of my gr-grandmother Isabella Stitt(b 29 Feb 1836)baptised in March Twp, Ontario, Canada who married Samuel E Moorhead.

Other children were
Thomas Stitt b 1833 m 1871 Eliza Jane Stephens
Samuel Stitt d 14 July 1853
Margaret Stitt m 14 July 1853 John Terman Robert Stitt m 20 Nov 1889 Susanna or Roxanne McArthy (b 26 Nov 1849 -3 Apr 1909 in Danford Lake Quebec, Canada

The Moorheads came to Canada from Killinchy Parish, County Down in 1821.

On my mother's side of the family (Stevenson)my gr-gr-grandmother was
Elizabeth or Eliza Stitt b 11 Aug 1833 Married James Stevenson 11 Jan 1856
daughter of Jackson Stitt(of Stittsville, Ontario)born 1 June 1806 and Anne Shannon born 6 May 1814
s/o James Stitt born 1773 and Colborn Eliza Steele born 1782 from Magherafeltd (Sp?), Londonderry.
s/o John Stitt and Martha Jackson

I am beginning to think that Thomas and Mary are from a different family and may be from County Down?
