My mother was a Stitt from Enterkin, just south of Sanquhar. We have information on Stitt's from Durisdeer (a Covenanters church over the hill from Enterkin)
I am interseted in a David P Stitt who was at Presidio, San Francisco in 1910. I think his father was a blacksmith in Fenwick, Ayrshire around 1906.
Our earliest Stitt, I think is John Stitt who married Jane Callender, both born around 1760, this is an estimate.
Any info would be welcome. Peter Cairns
