My great great grandfather was Thomas Stitt. He married Sarah Stevenson in the 1840's in Killinchy. (Information in Killinchy Presbyterian church records). I believe they had a son, Thomas, as well as daughter Sarah (my great grandmother who married Archibald Fleming in NYC in mid 1870's). I have a picture of someone identified as Thomas Stitt taken by a Belfast photographer. I know some of the family stayed in Ireland, but do not know who. My great grandmother visited relatives in 1903 at 172 (or 142) Westminster Crescent, My Lady's Road, Belfast (I have a letter she wrote to my grandmother from there.) Don't know if this would be tied in with your Thomas Stitt or not. Sarah Stevenson Stitt stated on the 1900 census in NYC that she was the mother of 7, 3 still living. I have only been able to identify 5 from Killinchy records. Let me know if any of this sounds like it ties in with your Thomas and I can send you the exact details I have (all of my material is downstairs so I don't have dates at my fingertips.)
