I am descended from Robert Stitt through my mother. Robert Stitt was born about 1764 in Grayson County, Virginia and died in 1822 in Montgomery County, Indiana. He married Jane Sayers who was born about 1768 in Grayson, Virginia. They were married in about 1779. They had 7 children: Margaret Elizabeth about 1781; Judge James T. about 1789; John (unknown date); Sarah 25Jan1793; Rebecca 17Mar1795; Jacob about 1797; and Elijah 1March1801. Jacob Stitt married Hiley Thompson in about 1843. She was born in Dec 1825 in North Carolina and died in about 1856 in Ashe County, North Carolina. They had 6 children: Wilburn 13Jun 1844; Tamsey Thompson 19Jun1845 (died 14Mar1933 in Ashe, N. Carolina); Jacob about 1847; Jennie about 1848; Elijah F. 18Apr1850; and Christopher about 1853. Tamsey married John W. Hudler on 17Oct1857. He was born 26Mar1832 in Stokes County, North Carolina and died on 23Dec1921 in Ashe, North Carolina. They had eleven children: Issac Oct1859; W.A. about 1860; Virginia about 1861; Ira about 1862; Wiley Winton 14Apr1866; William Jerome 1Oct1872; Joseph Franklin 16Nov1874; James Lafayette 14Jun1877; Robert P. 1Jan1881; Minnie Elizabeth Aug1882; and Ida Mae 20Mar1885. I have a little more information on some of those children if you are interested in any of them. All of those children were born in Ashe County, NC except for the last one, Ida Mae, who was born in Watagua, North Carolina. I hope this is helpful.
