I think you're off a generation. The information that I have inherited shows Alexander to be the son of John Stitt and Martha Galbraith (hence his middle name) of Blairsville, PA. Robert Stitt and Mary Appleby of Ireland are John's parents. John was born 21 August, 1794 and died 4 August 1853. Does this mesh with the information that you have?
