Americanized Family name of Stixel
Posted by: Debbie Breining Date: April 27, 2001 at 15:05:10

Has anyone come across a spelling of Stixel or Stichsel from Hanau Germany? My ancestor came over in the 1800's and his name was Jakob Stichsel and it was Americanized as Stixel. He settled in Cleveland, OH and later moved to Columbus, OH. I can find no records any where. Please let me know if you've seen this name. Thanks.
