Oliver of Glamorgan married Margaret Beauchamp and moved to Bletsoe(d1437 in Rouen, France). His second son, Oliver, was given Lidiard=Tregoze. His descendants were John, John, Nicholas. Nicholas' children were John, Oliver Richard,Elizabeth, Catherine,Dorothea, and Jsne.

Oliver and Richard were both unmarried in 1592.I think Richard married Sarah Rodgers and had a son Matthias and James,Sarah,Elizabeth and Nicolas.

The Lidiard=-Tregoze bunch were royalist and the Bletsoe were Followers of Cromwell. John, son of Nicolas, lost 3 sons fighting for Charles I. His contemporary Oliver of Bletsoe, was married to a cousin of Cromwell and part of the government.

There several other St. Joh n families around England at the time. Eleanor (above) married a William St. John of Glamorgan and there were others who I haven't been able to trqck down.Matthias could have come from any of these families but I still think that Richard is my ancestor.

Robert Owen St. John
