Hi Phil,
I live in upstate NY and have traced my great-great grandparents back to Canada. Where in Canada is still a mystery to me, but census records here indicate both came from Canada; their names were Joseph & Margaret St. John. They settled into Corinth, NY and it looks like maybe a brother, John St. John also came from Canada - all recorded in the 1870 census. Joseph was 42 years old, Margaret was 32 and I believe John was 50 years old.
