I have put together a website for The St. John Genealogy at www.stjohngenealogy.com. This is SQL database and php driven but it does upload and convert GEDCOM files. I have started by entering St. Johns from the 1907 book by Orline St. John Alexander titled The St. John Genealogy. I have thousands of names still to upload but I wanted to give everyone a heads up in case others want to help build a unified tree! This is a free secure site but it does require you create a user ID and be a St. John family member or other valid reason to gain access. Eventually there will be a "community" feature that will enable members to collaborate directly on the site as they do research. This site is intended to give St. John members a place to collaborate and build off the same tree (rather than have numerous version of recreating the same data). I can give individuals access to build their own branches within the tree. It is still a work-in-progress as I add new features. Today I added a newsletter feature but its empty because i need community input to populate births, deaths, marriages, reunions, etc!!!! Let's stop living like strangers and help each other identify our living family as well as correctly identify ourselves in a tree. If you have family tree information you'd like added to the tree please send information to submitstjohntree@stjohngenealogy.com If you have questions, concerns, or comments, feel free to direct them to contact@stjohngenealogy.com Warm Regards, Suzanne Notify Administrator about this message?
