My point being that if things were spelled phonetically then its possible whomever recorded his occupation might have misrepresented it. If one is trying to link an individual to a Royal family and is aware that words are spelled phonetically then one must assume all words are also spelled phonetically such as Chandler; Chancellor would make more sense than Chandler for a family of royal (religion & government mixed), is all I was suggesting.
