That's the thing I didn't say proof. I said mentioned. I found this:

Matthias' Father Richard?
Zaru7added this on 1 Dec 2010
Matthias came to the US from England with one brother Nicholas) and one sister (Elizabeth). Richard, who is from Purley Magna in Berkshire, had parents who were named Nicholas Saint John and Elizabeth Saint John. Now we know for certain that Matthias' sister was named Elizabeth, who married a Hoyt. Nicholas Sention who is infamous in New England for his sodomy case, we have yet to make a sealtight connection. It is speculative at this point but the coincidence is remarkable. Also bear in mind that Richard all but disappeared from the Saint John family records as well. We have no idea where or when he died, or what became of him. I am of the belief that this is our strongest lead to date.

And this:

Walter Hoyt Haight Hoyt
