I don't think John Stockley was married to John Bowen's widow. Cecil and Lerlene Stokely thought John was married to John Bowen's daughter. However John Bowen's will proves both of these wrong. Somewhere I have a copy of that will, but not handy. However I do have the letter I wrote to Cecil challenging the premis that Elizabeth was John Bowen's daughter.
In. item 10 of his will John Bowen appoints John and Woodman Stockley along with Jonathan Owens to divide his household goods and cattle and see that his wife and each child recieves their fair share.
He couldn't appoint 2 of John Stockleys sons executors of his will if his widow was their mother. Also if memory serves his will was dated after John Stockley died. It would seem John Bowen was a contemporary of the sons rather than John Sr.
In item 12 of his will he appoints John Stockley guardian of his children if his wife should die before they reach age 16 for the girls and 18 for the boys.
