Clete, It appears not many people are doing research anymore on any of the families. I did want to tell you about a Susannah Stockley who married a Pierre (Baudouine) Bowdoin/ Boughton/Booten, Bowden. It seems as if people have lost their interest in genealogy.
Jean, or John (b France-will probated 1717; to Northampton Co. Va. 1689 married Susannah Stockley.
If you are interested in this Susannah you can find it in the library in a book, "The Compendium of American Genealogy" First Families of America. on page 412..I think 1st volume but it should appear in the other three volumes also.
I have posted many messages on the Boughton/etc but never receive any response. I am interested in Joshua Boughton who married ..possibly Elizabeth Woodruff. He was born 1680-1685...married c 1710 and died 1731 in Essex,Va. My connection is Hannah Booten who married William Pace in Christ Church in Middlesex,Va.

I believe that Joshua could be the son of Thoma Boughton who was in James City,Va. by 1639 signed by Edward Oliver.

There was another document which shows his last name could be connected to John Tucker Bowdoin Cocke...very prominent in Virginia. BUT....he show up a Jean or John Bowdoin in Northampton Co. Va.....came with his parents ; to Northampton co; Va. 1689 and bought land; m. Susannah Stockley. On page 681 of the above book is lots of information on this line if it is your. I would appreciate hearing from you. I am looking at all of the Boughtons trying to connect. Thank you. Ann
