Joseph Calvert, my 5th GG, bought land on Plumtree Island -- then in Bertie Co., NC in 1720. Bertie Co. was just west
of Pasquotank Co. Elizabeth City of Pasquotank was important
commerce area in NC in 1600's and early 1700's.
