Hi Jim;
All of the published information I have seen indicates that the wife of Henry TOWLES was Ann STOKELEY, and not Elizabeth. The book "Golsan, Golson, Gholson, Gholston Families in America" on page 266, has "STOKELEY TOWLES, born 1690, in Accomac County, Virginia, died 1757, in Culpeper County, Virginia, son of Henry Towles, Sr. (born 1652 in Liverpool, england, died in Accomac County, Virginia, married 1668) and Anne Stokeley, his wife, daughter of John Stokeley, who was one of the first settlers of Jamestown, Virginia."
"Genealogies of Virginia Families", Vol V, from Virginia Magazine of History and Biography, Indexed by Thomas L. Hollowak, Baltimore, 1981, Page 526, "Henry and Ann (STOKELEY) TOWLES had issue (according to an entry in an old prayer book, which is not contemporary; but which there is every reason to believe is derived from an authoritative source)...Do you have anything which might dispute this info? ould live to exchange information. I am descended from Stokeley TOWLES and Ann VALLOTT of Middlesex and Culpeper Co. Thanks, Keith
