Note: "Peter Peck enlisted in the Army in 1777 under Captain Fenton and Cunningham in the 6th Regiment of the Continetal Army. He enlisted at the age of 22 and fought in several battles during the Revolutionary war. He served under General Muhlenberg and fought in the battle of Brandywine. He served under General Green, participated in the battle of Gilford Couurthouse, North Carolina. His term of service then expired and he returned to Shenandoah, Virginia. He was then drafted into service and served in the battle at Yorktown where he aided in the capture of Lord Cornwalis. His grave is located in Clifton, WV and his name apperas on a monument at the site of the Battle of Point Pleasant noting the names of Mason Countians that served in the Revolutionary War.

Peter and Margaret settled near Mount Crawford, Rockingham Co., VA and it was here that their twelve children were born. After the birth of their children, the family moved to Mason Co., WV where Peter was granted a large tract of land for his service in the Revolutionary War. The town of Clifton, WV was once a part of the Peck land holdings. Peter enlisted in the United States Army in Shenahoah County, VA, June 15, 1777 when he was 22 years old and fought in several battles during the Revolutionary War. He served until 1781 in enlistments under Captain Fenton and Captain Cunningham in the 6th Regiment of the Continental Line/Army, commanded by Colonel Tipton, Mathew Boyer, and General Muhlenberg. He took part in the battles of Brandywine, Germantown. He also served under General Green and participated in the battle of Gilford Courthouse, NC. His term of service then expired and he returned to Shenandoah, VA. He was then drafted into service and served in the siege and capture of Yorktown where he aided in the capture of Lord Cornwallis. He applied for pension in Mason County, Virginia in 1832.
An Indenture was made July 17, 1816 by Peter Hogg and his wife Patsy for selling 100 acres of land on the Ohio River to Peter Peck and his heirs for $600.
A poll taken at the Court House in Mason Co. on November 5, 1832 for the election of electors to choose a president and vice-president of the U. S. shows that Peter, Sr. and Peter Jr. voted against Andrew Jackson and Martin Van Buren.
Peter's name is on a monument at the site of the battle of PointPleasant noting the names of Mason Co. residents who served in theRevolutionary War.
