James Stoneking/King
My great-great-grandfather was James S. King, born 9 July 1831 in Ripley Co. Indiana. He married a Margaret Lamb, born in October 1832 in Ripley Co. Indiana. When I got their marriage record,he was listed as James Stoneking. On his death certificate his father was named Samuel King and mother was ? Boyd.James and Margaret had the following children: George Washington, Sarah, Ellen, Ida, Catherine Viola, Frank, Andrew, Mary, John Henry, Nettie and Julia Edna. This family moved from Ripley Co. Indiana and eventually ended up in Anderson Co. Kansas.I found a James and Margaret Stoneking on censuses in Ripley Co. Indiana and the children's names and ages match up exactly with the above named children as do the names and ages for James and.I believe this James King and James Stoneking are the same person.I also believe that the Samuel Stoneking who married Susannah Boyd (both born in Pennsylvania) are the parents of James.I found them on a census for Ripley Co. Indiana and they have a James the same age as my James. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks for any help received. This has been very confusing and surprising because I have all kinds of Stonekings in the other side of my family.
