Hi Janet! My name is William Storms but everyone calls me Mickey. I to am a descendant of John Storms and Hannah Collard. I have researched my branch of the family and have been accepted into the Sons of the American Revolution so I believe the information I am about to give you is accurate. In the Leitchfield Gazette, from Grayson Co. Kentucky,in an article dated AUGUST,7,1925,entitled,HISTORY OF THE LAYMAN FAMILY, judge J.R. Layman states "John Storms came to Kentucky about the same time Joachim Layman came.He was on Washingtons staff in the Revolutionary War.He moved to Leitchfield and died in the old Rogers house in that town".I live in the adjoining county and have looked for his grave but have not been able to find it. I believe he is probably buried in the old St. Augustine cemetery. There are other Storms'buried there but about half the graves are so old they are now unmarked.
