Patty,
Good news and bad news - Andrew Snively was an attorney in Franklin Co - and as such was named administrator for many estates.Believe me - I've read all of the wills from Franklin County through 1820 and I began to feel like I knew old Andrew personally! He is not the solid connection.
However, the good news is that you saw the connection between John, husband of Esther Funk and Lt. Col. Samuel Stotler. These men cannot be the sons refered to in the estate of Samuel d. 1796 Franklin because they were adults in 1803/1804 and Samuel's boys would only have been in their early to mid twenties {based on an age of over 14 in 1796.] and would not have done military service. It is very possible that they were brothers.
Thanks for filling me in on the Jacob and Sarah Brandt connection.
I'll address Caspar in another response since he has had a wealth of informtion covering his group.
I should point out also that from deed work I have done in the Pa. Archvies Jacob Stotler(of Franklin) owned land in Bedford/ Somerset Co. as did Caspar.Jacob STATLER'S 167 acres there was warranted in Dec 1784, and when surveyed bordered by a JOHN STATLER in 1796.There are deeds of sale from Jacob's children regarding this land.Caspar's estate also references an Emmanuel Stotler - who was not a son! Also, Samuel d. 1796 held land in Bedford/ Somerset County which is referenced in his estate. So round and round we go!
Did you notice that Caspar in Bedford/ Somerset had children with the same names as Jacob, Emmanuel and Samuel of Franklin Co,? That is not coincidence!
Suzy
