Craighead County Stotts Families

Frances F. "Fanny" Stotts married Elbert Barnes in Craighead County. Who were the parents of Fanny Stotts who was born in Craighead County about 1880?

Sarah Wells, daughter of Jane Wells McCarthy Mead, married James Stotts, born abt 1840 in Tennessee. Sarah was about 18 years younger than James. The 1880 census shows that they had two children, Viola and William Stotts, and Sarah's mother Jane Mead was living with them. The marriage of Jane Wells McCarthy and James Davis Mead must have ended in divorce about 1871 when their son Joseph M. Mead died at age two. Other than Sarah's marriage to James Stotts after the Mead seperation, how were the Mead and Mead-related families allied to the Stotts families in Craighead County? Census records in Craighead County show some instances of the families living near each other and in some cases there were people by the name of Stotts living with Meads. The Meads came to the area in 1857 from Georgia. Many of their friends and relatives came with them or soon joined them. Some other allied families were Downs, Hall, Moon, Briant/Bryant, Keith, Berryman, Carrothers, Higgenbotham, Ellis, Epps, Dudley, McGuire, Ransom, Hayes, Stephens/Stevens, Beaty, Condra, Towers, Mclain, and Webb, but there were many others.

I'm asking about these Stotts connections because of Family Finder results. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Pat
