When I asked the question about a connection between Johann Heinrich and Johann Philip, I was searching for the homeplace in Germany where my wife's folks had lived during the Thirty Years War. A kind and helpful lady in our local LDS church pointed out that among Germans leaving Germany in 1749 there was Johann Heinrich Straeter, christened 7Sep1717 Evangelisch, Flierich, Westfalen, Preussen. She also noted a Johann Heinrich Strader, christened 7Sep1687, in the same small town east of Munster. Hence, I think the two Johanns may not have been close relatives.
