In Reply to: Strader of Orange County, NC, 1770-1800's by John Hughes of 546

My information is that Johann Heinrich Strader (possibly)married Maria Elisabet Supenkamp in Flierich, Westfalen, Preussen (Germany), arrived in Phila. 1749, and settled in N. C. in 1750. On a map of Guilford Co. landowners before 1800 I find a land grant to Henry Strader 1763 about three or four miles north of the Old Brick (Clapp) Church near the boundary line for what later became Alamance Co. Johann's children were Henry, 1750, Jacob, 1752, Anna Margarita, 1754, George, 1755, John, 1758, Anna Catarina, 1760. I would be charmed to find a daughter named Mary Elizabeth (after her mother) born around 1770 in Orange Co. (later to be Guilford Co. N. C.)

Michael Strater could ? be an unnamed son of Henry Strader, son or Johann Heinrich born 1784-1790. I do not find a lamd grant for any Hughes on my map. (The map is on the web page for Friedan's Church. Johann's grant is on D6, and his son Henry's is on C6.)
