According to a book called the LEGACY OF ADAM FISHER, by James S. Fisher, the wife of David Strader was Prudence Fisher, daughter of Abraham Fisher and Rhoda Layton. Prudence was born ca 1780 in Maryland or Virginia.
The Fishers came from Germany probably by 1750 and settled in Pennsylvania, then seem to appear in Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina.
Abraham and Rhoda Layton Fisher are said to be buried at or near Yanceyvile in Caswell County, North Carolina, where they had moved in their later years to be near some of their children living in that area. I would estimate their deaths as around 1800.
Prudence Fisher, wife of David Strader, had siblings named:
Caleb Fisher who married Mary Heither/Heather.
Trustrum Fisher who married Catherine Golden.
Mary Fisher who married Samuel Driscoll/Driskill.
Mahala Fisher who married a Mr. Allen.
Celia Fisher, about whom nothing is known.
Rachel Fisher who married Furniss/Furnace Adair.
Milcah Fisher who married a Mr. Dill
While I, personally, cannot attest to the veracity or accurateness of everything in the LEGACY OF ADAM FISHER book, just about everything I've investigated so far has been pretty much right on.
According to the LDS records, a Samuel Driskill lived in Caswell Co., NC, in 1790. Apparently the 1790 census of Caswell County has been lost so have been unable to check that out. My gg-grandfather, Rev. Samuel Driskill, was born in Rockingham County, NC, in 1799. I believe he was a son of Samuel Driskill and Mary Fisher.
