Taken from Hartzel Strader's "Strader History" pg. 4 in regard to confusion of surnames...
This Schrader had a son Jacob. m. Mary Simmons and to them were b. at least seven children who principally took on the names of Schrader and Shrader. A good example of how the surnames were switches; Jacob and Mary had a dau Sarah who m. 5 Jan 184;6, John McQuain, bondsman Jacob Shrader, whereas Morton's History of Barbour County, WV page 440 shown her maiden surname as Strader...

Hopes this helps you...all I saw on McQuain in the book
