I see a Joseph Andrew Straghan (Strahan) married a Msargaret Irish Hamilton in Tydavnet Church Recoerds - that was 22ndJan1977.
Then at Derryvally Presbyterian Church I see a Robert McCoy married a Margaret Straghan - 1867.
At Glennan Presbyterian Church I see a Thomas Hoy & a Emily Straghan living at Billis townland, Donagh
Clontibret area seems to be a strong area for Straghans with several - James & Eliza Strahan at Tassan (1881), Alex Johnston & Catherine Strahan at Tassan (1858, & Samuel Strahan mrrying Maria Groves of Gallagh (1868) - this Samuel Strahan originated in County Armagh.
Then at Legnacreeve & Braddox Presbyterian Church I see John Strahan married Ellen Oliver of Tassan (1934)
There is, of course, a townland in Tyholland Parish called Straghan so I feel that the Straghan family may have lived here at some time.It is the only townland of this name in Ireland & Straghan is clarly a family name .
