My Strecks came from bon Baden Germany orginally, but migrated to Russia when Czarist Catherine the Great offered the Germans land as after marrying Peter the Great she was lonely for her German people. In 1765 Johannes Strack left Bon Baden, Germany and went to Russia with his wife and 3 children. My grandfather was born in Hussenbach, Russia and came to America in 1892. Herman was a named used in the family, so there may be a connection way back in Bon Baden, Germany.
