Hi Marilyn, I have done quit a bit of research on Rossie, NY. Your Rueben Streeter and Joseph Teall were the very first settlers of Rossie in 1807. According to Evert's 1878 History of St.Lawrence co. he came to Rossie from Salisbury, Herkimer co. "The first improvement was made by Rueben Streeter, in 1807, on a farm about half a mile east of the present village of Wegatchie. In 1808 he commenced the erection of a mill on the Oswegatchie river." In the spring of 1811 there is a list of families living on the Streeter tract. Included is James Streeter. Ruben Streeter was town supervisor in 1814, again 1816-1818, and again in 1829. Later on in History of Pitcarin James Streeter shows up there as an early settler. Unfortunatly there is nothing on Ruebens wife. Hope this helps.
