Ancestry of Sarah, wife of William Stringfellow (ca. 1700 - 1746)

The maiden name of Sarah, wife of William Stringfellow, has been listed in this forum as Elkin(s). There is some circumstantial data that supports this hypothesis:

1. 2 May 1746; Administration of the estate of William Stringfellow, deceased, is granted to Sarah Stringfellow and on the same day she gave bond in the sum of 100 Current Money as his administratrix with Richard Elkins, her security. An inventory of his estate was recorded 5 June 1746. Fiduciary Account Book #3, p. 32, details the sales of the personal estate of William Stringfellow, deceased, by Richard Elkins on 15 March 1747/8.
2. James Stringfellow was apprenticed to Richard Elkin in 1748.
3. Enoch Stringfellow was apprenticed to Richard Elkin in 1748.
4. Robert Stringfellow was apprenticed to John Elkin in 1748.
5. William Stringfellow (II) jointly posted a bond for the estate of John Elkin in 1751.

If William Stringfellow's wife, Sarah, was from the Elkin(s) family, she likely was a daughter of Richard Elkins and his wife Elizabeth Bryant. There aren't any Elkin(s) wills from the early 18th century to establish Sarah's ancestry and I haven't checked for any chancery suits that might reveal family connections. I was wondering if anyone was aware of any negative information that might show that Sarah, wife of William Stringfellow, could not be a member of this Elkin(s) family? This early connection between the Stringfellow and Elkin(s) families, if correct, provides connections both to Native American ancestry and English gentry for all of the descendants of William Stringfellow (died 1746) and I would like to establish the connection beyond a reasonable doubt.
