Hi,

I can't tell you if John is the son of AJ Stringfellow and Martha Chitwood, but I can tell you that Andrew Jackson is probably the son of Reuben Stringfellow and Elizabeth MNU in Tallapoosa County, AL, in 1850. Martha is probably the daughter of Charles Chitwood/Chatwood, also in Tallapoosa. AJ & Martha are living with Reuben & Elizabeth. I am basing this theory on two things: their proximity to one another and to my great-greats, the Edins and the Heltons, also in Tallapoosa in 1850.

Martha's sister (?) Sarah Ann L. Chatwood married Hiram Edins in 1843 in Tallapoosa. In 1860 AJ and Martha are found a few doors away from B. Edins, Hiram's brother, the Heltons and the Hardys.

Sometimes neighbors and relatives names repeat and give clues about relationships. Hope this helps. Happy hunting!
