Hi Toni,
Elden and Leona are my ggrandparents as well. As a six year-old boy I had the chance to sit with Leona as she showed me pics and recalled her Stringfellow family -- delightful memory. Leona's father was George M. Stringfellow who died in 1932 in Laquey, MO. His wife was Mary C. McNab. I'm pretty sure his father was John A. Stringfellow; whose father was George Patton(?) Stringfellow; whose father was James Madison(?) Stringfellow; whose father was William Stringfellow. What I'd really like to know is if the apparently existent family bible of James and Susannah Stringfellow actually records James' father William's wife as Sarah Dorothy Elkins, as that would bolster the lineage to the Patawomeck, etc.
Aloha from the western side of the homesteading effort of the aboved mentioned people that winds from Virginia-Kentucky-Iowa-Washington(Leona)-Hawai'i Island(me),
Darren Schmidt
