Hi Carol,
My Strobeck ancestors came from Skane around the area of Kristianstad. Horrod, Bronnestad, Kristianstad to be exact. The family as far back as I have it is Per Pehrson Strobeck of Ostra Broby, Kristianstad and Kierstina Kersti Pehrsdotter. They had a son Pehr Strobeck who married Hanna Bengtsdotter. Their son, Aboen Bengt Strobeck was the one to immigrate to the US in about 1869 and settled first around Afton, Washington County, Minnesota.
I have a huge family tree somewhere that was put together by a man in Sweden by the name of Jimmy Frieg or something to that effect. I've never heard of Helsingsburg, but maybe it'll be somewhere in his tree. What was your husband's ancestor's name?
