Hi Judy,
Thank you again for all help you gave me early last month. I have learned so much in a short time.
I don't think i ever answered your question about the name my husband's grandfather used on his Wedding certificate. Remember it was Aosker. We believe that it was in error by the minister- never before or again was it spelled that way- The last name Strobeck was even mispelled. I think there was a language barrier and the sound of the name was how it was written.
I sure am wondering about Frans Oscar's father Pers Strobeck who remarried sometime after his wife Helen Tornberg died. I would think there should be a listing for that marriage. I believe he was listed as a widow when he died. So did that second wife die also? The family seemed to stay in that area always. The last child of Helen Tornberg and Pers Strobeck was adopted by a family on the estate when Per died.
Again there should be a record. According to the information left by Oscar's granddaughter Helen- Per owned a Timber Farm in that area of Malmohus- he sold the wood for the building of ships. The estate was self sufficient with a store, church, school- etc. Sounds like we would call, a company town. Wonder how I would find out about this? It would be interesting to learn more. Again there should be records.
Any ideas?
