Using Grandma's hearsay as my source, I think you may have trouble finding any descendants of David Stroup, if that is the line you are looking for.

My information is that he had only the one son James, listed as a grandson with Joseph in 1850 census. James, I know, had two sons: Thomas Uriah who had two daughters and Randolph. My hazy recollection is that Randolph did have one son, but I think that son had daughters also. Randolph's son would be the only chance from David's line.

Thomas never knew his grandfather, David, so his information is pretty suspect.
