Stroupe family and iron making
Posted by: Edward Veitch (ID *****2542) Date: March 29, 2009 at 08:37:53

My family was closely tied to the Stroupe family, all the way back to the North Carolina area. My family was also iron workers. I was looking for any info on the Veitch family. I know they worked together during the Civil War. I know that my ggg grandfather, Henry Forbus Veitch worked at Nesbit iron works in South Carolina around 1836. I know the Stroupe family and the Veitch's helped build or design most of the furnaces across the South.
