My stepfather was James Farrell Stroup. As a child we always had a yearly visit by our "Uncle Earnest" on his way to Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was single and, as far as I know, he was never married. He played his prized ukulele (i think it was)for us and sang songs. He always brought us a silver dollar as a gift. He was very handsome and well groomed, and was one of the kindest men that I have ever known. We liven in Dalton, Ga and my stepfather was a mortician and owned Stroup Funeral Home. His mother was Elano Stroup, and she had a half-sister Hazel Cruce. Could this be the same James Earnest Stroup?
