Matthew, we do not have any information of our Jacob Stroup having a brother named Michael(that doesn't mean there wasn"t one, only that we do not know about him.)However, Jacob and Nancy did have a son Michael, born in 1777 in Upper Hoyle Creek Lincoln Co. NC and he died in Lincoln co. and was buried in the Stroup Family Cemetary in Gaston Co.His wife was Jean Goodson, daughter of NC pioneer William Goodson. They had eleven children. If you want more information on him we'll share what we have. This Michael had a younger brother Daniel (b1779) who was married to Polly Goodson, Jean's sister or cousin. He was our ancestor.
There are a number of Michael Stroup's throughout the south and widwest. Good Luck on your search. Gene and Barb.
