Description: This auction is for a RARE Family Bible and ALL THE CONTENTS from within. The contents include LOADS of FAMILY HISTORY for the STROUP Family residing in PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA in the 1800's.


*DODDRIDGE FAMILY EXPOSITOR BIBLE 1833 PRINTING, New Testament by Philip Doddridge (several Steel cut engravings, all pages intact, but leather binding is in poor condition, some foxing)

*3 HOLLOW CUT SILHOUETTES (unidentified, but certainly members of the family)

*Marriage Certificate (1874- George Stroup to Ella ?, Wonderful embossed pattern around edges)

*Marriage Certificate (1834- Peter Stroup to Alexina Robinson...wrapped in tissue paper printed with a lovely advertisement for French Flowers from A. Rothe, Philadelphia)

*Purchase Document or Deed (Purchases of Truck?, etc. from John M. Chestnut & Co., North-East Corner Second and Market Streets. 2 Cent US Interrev Stamped)

*Primitive Painting (ships and soldiers at sea)

*Family Records (Births, Marriages, Deaths...newspaper clippings and handwritten in Bible)
