Diana,

My ancestor is Melinda Stroupe br circa 1814 in NC. She is reported to be the daughter of David & Margaret Inglefinger Stroupe of Lincoln Co, NC. David br circa 1786 in NC is reported to be the son of Adam Stroupe of Lincoln Co, NC. There are reported to be letters from David's sister Elizabeth Head stating relationships between Elizabeth, David and Joseph. Both David & Joseph moved to Buncombe Co., NC.

There is no proof putting the family of David & Margaret together, except for an estate paper for a Solomon & Caroline Miller Stroupe in Buncombe Co. Melinda Stroupe and her husband William Redmon are listed as heirs to Solomon. I can not find where Solomon & Caroline had children, so I am thinking the heirs listed are those of Solomon's father. Melinda is very close in age to Solomon & Caroline.

I find the findings of the Lincoln Co, NC DNA tests interesting. A male Redman took a DNA test and we were very suprise to find a hg J2.

I would love to learn more about the Lincoln Co, NC Stroupes and hope some of the Buncombe Co Stroupes will be tested.

Take care,
Sandy in Southern CA
