seeking source of birthdate 4 Nov 1724 of Jacob STROUP of NC
Posted by: Diana Gale Matthiesen (ID *****0513) Date: September 10, 2007 at 23:13:27
  of 1120

We now have two paper descendants of Jacob STROUP of Lincoln/Gaston Co., NC, DNA tested, and they are a 37/37 *or better* genetic match with four paper descendants of Johann Pieter STRAUB I, the 1733 immigrant to Philadelphia. There can now be no doubt that Jacob STROUP of NC is the minor child, Jacob, who accompanied Johann Pieter and his wife, Maria, on the crossing in 1733, along with their other minor child, Johann Pieter (II).

Some sources show that Jacob STROUP of Lincoln/Gaston Co., NC, was born 8 Nov 1724. This is the same birthdate as Johann Pieter STRAUB II, which has been calculated from his age at death on his tombstone in St. Peter's Cemetery, Freeburg, Snyder Co., PA. So... what is the source of Jacob's birthdate? If this date for Jacob is correct, he and Johann Pieter II were twins.
