Hi Beth- Sorry about the delay in response- I was away and then it took a while to gather info together.
Yes we are connected-but it appears that Lucy's father is Eleazer(Elisha)Strout, Sr. of Limington. I found this info in Marylin Strout's site about Maine Strouts-
Or just go into search engine and type in "Strout genealogy" and her page will show up.
All her other info seems to agree with my Stout stuff. You could check with her about references.
I noticed that Tom Dunn is working on Cash/Strout lines also.
I also had a chance to check the Cape Elizabeth archives but found nothing helpful on the Strout family. When you see a place called "Falmouth, Maine"in the 1600 and 1700s it usually is Cape Elizabeth or So. Portland( they split in 1890s)

As for the Cash family in Cash corner-
page 13/14 of the 'History of South Portland, Maine'- 1992 second printing by the SP Historical Committee says-
According to Mrs Marjorie (Cash) Baird, the area was settles by two Cash brothers. One stayed and the other went west. It is believed that the one who stayed was George W. Cash who established a grocery business at the tirangle of the intersection as early as 1885, a business which he carried on for many years. At his death in 1911, the business was conducted by one of his sons, Harold E. Cash, father of Marjorie. Many branches of the family settled in the area which accounts for the name"Cash Corner"-There is a picture of a Cash store in this book and the name on it is-A. J. Cash Co

I was recently in touch with Cheryl Hodgdon who is doing the Cash Littlefield families. I can e-mail you her address. I sent her a copy of an old map of the intersection with the names of the merchants listed. I found it in my dentist office in CE and borrowed it to copy!I also sent her a newspaper clipping of Marjorie Cash when she was my mother's maid of honor at her wedding in Portland well over 50 years ago. I remember going to an old store on the corner with Marjorie and her kids when we visited the area( and I am just over 50) Marjorie is still alive( I think) and living in South Portland.

Back to the Strout family-
If Marylin Strout is correct Lucy's line goes-
Christopher(1)- b. 1631
George(2)- b. 1689
Eleazer(Elisha)(3)- b. 1727
Lucy(4)m. to Nathaniel Cash- 26 Oct, 1780 in CE- had 8 children between 1782-1803

We connect here- Lucy's brother Elisha is my line-
Elisha(4)- b. 1746
Col Solomon(5)- b.1777
Freeman(6)-b. 1806
Augustus(7)-b. 1835
Ada(8)- b. 1886- m. Delmer Sylvester in 1918
( her second husband)
Ellen Sylvester(9)- b. 1926
Lynne(10)- b. 1946- birth name- Dianne Lynn Sylvester- adopted out of the family in 1947

I also found some Strout stuff on the Family Tree Maker discs that I can snail-mail you.

Let me know what you think-
