MILBRIDGE - Preston C. "Pep" Strout, 78, died doing what he loved, working in his woods Jan. 15, 2001. He was born Aug. 19, 1922, in Harrington, the son of Ansel and Viola (Kennedy) Strout. Pep is survived by his wife and companion of 52 years, Doreen. Together they enjoyed many pursuits, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and lobsterfishing with their dog, Bear. Pep loved hunting season at Elmeadow camp and summer camps and their friendships at Beddington and Montegail. In addition to his wife of Milbridge; he is survived by four children, Raymond of Harrington and Michael of Milbridge, Gail and her husband, Vernon Scott, and Sandi and her husband, Robert Look all of Columbia Falls; six grandchildren, Denise and her husband, Steve Dube, Joe Strout and his wife, Carey, Jason Scott, Jimmy Strout, Jennifer and husband, Fred Brown and John Michael Nadeau; two great-grandchildren, Meghan Lee Dube and Jewel Amber Strout; three sisters, Virginia and her husband, John Kennedy, Ruby Howard and Jeanette Wright; a sister-in-law Carrie Strout; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Derwood. Friends are invited to visit with the family 1 p.m. until the funeral service at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, 2001, at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Milbridge.
